Job Description Deluxe Corporation is seeking a seasoned Desktop Technologies Engineer with extensive experience designing, developing and deploying both physical and virtual enterprise desktop and application delivery solutions. As Desktop Technologies Engineer you will collaborate with the enterprise architecture and engineering teams and key stakeholders to design, develop, deploy and manage an enterprise, multi-tiered, dynamic desktop infrastructure, ensuring that all technology domains work effectively together. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience designing, developing, implementing and managing each step in process required to deliver desktops and applications to the enterprise. This includes experience in:
1. Leading efforts to develop desktop operating system, application and hardware standards in collaboration with key stakeholders and then rationalizing the desktop technical environment and implementing lifecycle management to keep them rationalized.
2. Creating, distributing and managing desktop images designed such that a minimal number of images is required.
3. Designing, implementing and managing a technology-enabled process to match end-users or job role computing requirements to the appropriate desktop presentation solution selected from a multi-tiered portfolio of desktop presentation solutions.
4. Implementing an application analysis platform for the discovery of compatibility issues and positioning applications to the correct desktop solution (virtualized or physical) within a multi-tiered desktop environment.
5. Efficiently packaging, configuring and distributing applications to multiple tiers of desktop presentation methods, both physical and virtual.
6. Utilizing application virtualization and streaming technology across a multi-tier desktop environment in lieu of application packaging whenever necessary or when efficiencies can be gained by doing so.
7. Automating distribution and management of both desktop images with corresponding patches and packaged or virtualized applications to both physical and virtual desktop environments. 8. Collaborating with enterprise risk management, IT operations, and relevant stakeholders in designing enterprise desktop solutions such that the desired level of risk avoidance is achieved.
Required Education
Bachelors or equivalent in Computer Science/Information Technology plus 5-7 years experience in designing desktop software and hardware solutions and problem solving/troubleshooting.

Advanced Vendor (Microsoft, Citrix, VMware) certifications a plus

Skills
· Ability to create and maintain thorough system, process and procedural documentation including application documentation, including technical schematics, detailed inventories, work flow processes, decision matrixes, technical white papers and policy and standards documents
· Ability to create and utilize metrics, such as total cost per desktop within a defined desktop tier or application end-user performance statistics broken down by desktop tier to attain operational efficiency
· Ability to collect and analyze complex data sets for reporting, forecasting, designing and troubleshooting for root cause analysis
· Ability to act as project technical lead including development of detailed work break down structures, provide accurate project and task estimates, deliver successful desktop solutions to meet business requirements with a high fidelity to strategic technical architectural plans
· Ability to forge single purpose commitment from others with disparate objectives
· Interpersonal relations - Sells approaches through the power of ideas rather than mandates
· Ability to easily master a technology, apply it, and then develop expertise in new areas
· Employs penetrating and objective evaluations, often pursuing in-depth, multi-disciplined research to arrive at sound decisions and technical solutions, oftentimes synthesizing innovative, synergistic approaches or solutions
· Ability to work with business colleagues in a collaborative application design and development environment
· Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as collaboratively as a fully participating member of a group
· Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities
· Excellent communication, writing, meeting facilitation and presentation skills including executive level presentation skills
